Buddy Bear Help e.V. - About us

Exhibition of United Buddy Bears

The charitable organisation has its origins in the “United Buddy Bears“ project initiated in 2002 by Eva und Klaus Herlitz. Meanwhile, this project has visited all five continents.

Many projects have been realised since the Buddy Bear Help e.V. was founded in 2004, always with the aim to react quickly and to avoid any unnecessary red tape when helping children in need in the native countries of the United Buddy Bear artists.

Projects include the funding of life-saving heart operations in La Paz (Bolivia) and of school buildings in Angola and Malawi.
The organisation also provides continuous support to individual children in Jamaica and Sri Lanka and to schools in Nigeria.
In 2009, Berlin was included in the organisation’s range of activities by actively supporting the creation of a new site for the Arche. Since this new Arche in Berlin-Wedding opened its doors in 2009, the Buddy Bear Help e.V. has paid the rent for its premises.
“Every cent for the children“ – this guiding principle of the  “Buddy Bear Help e.V.“ guarantees, that 100 per cent of all the donations and auction proceeds are used for the individual projects helping children in need. The members of the charitable organisation cover all organisational and administrative costs.
